I feel I must apologize to all my blog readers as it has been several months since I have written a blog post.  It has been a very busy spring and start to the summer. So, you ask, what's been keeping me so busy? Between playing soccer, getting my flying hours in so I can do my solo in October,  as well as working on a new project with a company called Uncommon Goods, it has been a whirlwind.  

Today, I would like to talk to you about this new and exciting project that I am involved in with Uncommon Goods called “Hug in a Box”.  I am very excited about this opportunity as I was able to work with some really talented folks over at Uncommon Goods. 

For those that do not know them, they are located in New York City and were founded back in 1999 by Dave Bolotsky. They offer some really unique products you can not find anywhere else.  My parents have always received their catalogs in the mail so I was familiar with the name growing up.

When they reached out to me back at the end of last year and wanted me to work with them to develop a new virtual hug product I was thrilled for the opportunity.  I am always looking to grow and learn as a young business entrepreneur. As we continue to battle Covid-19 here in the U.S. and around the world I think it is important to ask ourselves what Valentine’s Day means.

How will this virus change how we act and what we can do to celebrate this special event? 

It has been a long tradition to spend time with loved ones and family on the 14th day of February-Husbands and Wives, Boyfriends and Girlfriends, etc.

 Valentine’s Day actually has a dark past as it is said that the name has come from the ancient Romans. On Feb. 14th in 3rd century A.D, Emperor Claudius II executed two men, both with the name Valentine. Their death has since been honored by the Catholic Church by celebrating St. Valentine’s Day.
